Independent Funding Finder

Independent funding. Official routes. No paid listings.

A human-reviewed starting point for grassroots sports clubs looking for official funding, grants, facilities support, tax relief and wider fundraising routes. We point you to the source organisation, which always makes the final decision.

IndependentThese listings are not advertisements or paid placements. We do not charge clubs to use this directory.
Human-reviewedWe use official sources and review changes before updating the public list. A source may still change its rules after we last checked it.
Official decision-makersThe funder decides eligibility, deadlines and awards. A listing is a starting point, not funding advice or a promise of success.

How to use the finder

Start with the club need, then check the official fit.

Funding searches are usually more useful when you are clear about the problem, the people who will benefit and the exact support you need.

01

Name the need

Think in practical terms: facilities, equipment, participation, volunteers, energy costs, local projects or fundraising.

02

Use the cards to shortlist

Check the type of support, geography, typical value and eligibility notes before committing time to an application.

03

Confirm with the funder

Always open the official source, read the latest criteria and check your club, project and timetable match the programme.

Funding sources

Find the route that best matches what your club needs to do.

Cards show the practical information available at the last review. Funding programmes, budgets, deadlines and criteria can change, so treat every listing as a route to the current official details.

Before you apply

Give the funder a clear, practical story.

Most applications are stronger when the club can show who will benefit, what the money will pay for, how it will be delivered and what will be different afterwards.

1Name the needIs it equipment, facilities, participation, volunteers, energy costs or community activity?
2Show the peopleExplain who will benefit, especially new or underrepresented participants.
3Set out the costHave real quotes, delivery plans and a simple budget ready.
4Check the rulesOnly apply when your club, project and timescale genuinely fit the official criteria.

Not ready to apply yet?

Build the case before you ask for support.

Better evidence, a clear local story and stronger sponsor materials can make a funding conversation easier too. The Tendring Club Support Resource Library gives clubs practical tools for commercial planning, local visibility and building confidence around income.
