Installation and safety guide

Host Grassroot Media equipment safely and confidently.

Everything clubs need to know about installing poster frames and clubhouse screens, running them day to day, and meeting the shared responsibilities that keep members, visitors and equipment safe.

Before you install

Safe fitting is the club’s responsibility.

Grassroot Media supplies the equipment and clear guidance. By accepting and installing equipment, the club confirms that it will be fitted securely, used safely and kept in an appropriate indoor location.

Our public and product liability insurance is in place for the equipment we provide, but it does not remove the club’s responsibility to follow the instructions, use sensible judgement and keep members and visitors safe.

Always
  • Use a suitable, secure indoor location
  • Follow the fitting instructions supplied with the hardware
  • Check for cables, pipes and other hazards before drilling
  • Secure power leads so they cannot create a trip hazard
  • Send Grassroot Media a photo or video once equipment is in place

Poster frame installation

Visible, secure and out of the way.

Poster frames are designed to be simple to host, but they still need a sensible position and secure installation.

Where poster frames should go

  • Mount at around eye level in locations agreed with Grassroot Media
  • Use changing rooms or communal areas such as bars, corridors and lounges where suitable
  • Keep frames clear of doors, walkways and clothing hooks
  • Do not place frames in toilets, on doors or on external-facing walls

How to fit the frame

  • Use the supplied screws and wall plugs where a permanent fixing is appropriate
  • Or use the supplied no-damage sticky pads on a suitable clean surface
  • With sticky pads, use one in each corner and press firmly for around 30 seconds
  • Check the frame is secure before the area is used by members or visitors
After installation: please send close-up and wider photographs of each frame in place. This helps us verify safe, agreed placement and manage campaign proof.

All clubhouse screens

The shared rules, whatever screen your club receives.

Indoor only

Choose the right environment.

Keep screens inside the clubhouse, away from direct sunlight, windows, damp areas and places where the equipment could be knocked or obstruct a route.

Power and WiFi

Set it up properly.

Use a nearby power socket and your club WiFi or approved hotspot. Do not leave power leads loose where members, staff or visitors could trip over them.

Portrait format

Keep the display upright.

All Grassroot Media screens are set up for portrait content. Install them vertically and follow the model-specific logo orientation below.

Keep us informed

Send a photo when it is live.

Once the screen is installed and displaying content, send a photo or short video so we can confirm the location and help with any final setup questions.

Fitting the screen

  • Mount vertically, with the TCL logo on the left when facing the screen

  5. Send us a photo or video once content is playing.

Day to day

Tell us the times your club is normally open and we can set a screen schedule remotely. Screens can also be operated manually using the remote. During scheduled off-hours the display will show black.

Samsung screen guide

Freestanding or wall-mounted Samsung screens.

Samsung screen packs include a Fire Stick and can be installed on the supplied stand or using the supplied wall bracket, provided the club confirms the final setup is stable and safe.

What is in the pack

  • Samsung screen with Fire Stick attached
  • Freestanding mount and wall bracket
  • Remote control
  • Power extension lead
  • Velcro cable ties

Position and fit

  • Install vertically, with the Samsung logo on the left when facing the screen
  • For a stand, attach the pole to the rear of the screen, then the base to the pole
  • For a wall mount, use the supplied bracket on a solid interior wall
  • Ensure a freestanding screen cannot be knocked over
  • Keep the Fire Stick and all cables tidy and secure

Connect and launch

  1. Plug in both the screen and the Fire Stick.
  2. Allow the screen to start. Once it is showing content, press Home on the remote.
  3. Go to Settings → Network and connect to club WiFi.
  4. Turn the equipment off and on again at the wall.
  5. After a short wait, the CMS Signage app should open and begin playing content automatically.
  6. Use the supplied cable ties and send us a photo or video once complete.

Day to day

Use the wall socket to turn both the screen and Fire Stick on or off together. Avoid using only the screen power button, as the Fire Stick may remain on. A programmable timer socket can be provided for regular opening hours.

Troubleshooting and responsibilities

Most issues have a straightforward first check.

Screen not showing content?

Turn the equipment off at the wall, wait a few minutes and turn it back on. Check the WiFi connection and the correct signage app. If that does not resolve it, contact us.

Need to change the schedule?

Tell us the days and hours your club needs the screen to operate. For longer closures or the off-season, it is fine to power the equipment off at the wall.

Who owns the hardware?

All Grassroot Media poster frames, screens and supplied equipment remain the property of Grassroot Media. Please contact us before moving, removing or replacing agreed equipment.
