A New Way for Grassroots Clubs to Raise Funds; Introducing the Grassroot Lottery

At Grassroot Media we’ve always believed clubs should benefit first. That’s why we’ve helped hundreds of grassroots teams generate income from advertising in their clubhouses.

Now, we’ve taken things a step further. We’ve set up Grassroot Support CIC, a not-for-profit organisation created to give clubs a simple, sustainable new way to raise money: the Grassroot Support Lottery.

Here’s how it works:

  • Tickets cost just £1 a week.
  • Players have the chance to win prizes up to £25,000.
  • Every ticket directly supports grassroots clubs: 50% of each ticket goes straight to the club chosen by the player.
  • A further 10% goes into a central fund under the new community interest company we’ve set up: Grassroot Support CIC, which will be distributed back to clubs. The more people who play, the more money is available to support grassroots sport.

We’re not making money out of this (we’re not allowed to legally). As a CIC (Community Interest Company), all funds raised are for the benefit of grassroots clubs.

To explain how it works and answer questions, we’re holding an online information session on Tuesday 23rd September at 12pm. You’ll meet Craig and Carol from Gatherwell (the UK’s leading lottery provider and the company running it all) who will guide clubs through the process.

If you can’t attend live, don’t worry, the session will be recorded and shared with everyone who registers.
