Club Support Guide 03

Price the value you can deliver, not a number you hope will work.

Pricing gets easier when it is linked to clear assets, frequency and delivery. The aim is a sensible offer that feels fair to the sponsor and worthwhile for the club.

The guide

Price sponsorship with confidence in 3 practical moves.

Keep the approach simple. Your aim is to make the club easier to explain, easier to support and easier for volunteers to deliver consistently.

01

Start with what is included

List the actual assets, the planned duration and the likely audience. Regular visibility in a trusted local setting is often more valuable than a single large moment that is difficult to repeat.

02

Create simple choices

A good, better and best structure can be more useful than a long menu. It lets the sponsor choose a level of involvement while helping the club protect the value of the core offer.

03

Add value before discounting

When a sponsor asks for more, first ask what would make the package feel right. It may be an extra social post, an event mention or a longer term agreement, rather than a lower price.

These original pilot edition resources were developed through Tendring Club Support. Use the parts that fit your club, then adapt the details, pricing and promises to what your volunteers can realistically deliver.

A practical checklist

Before the next committee meeting, do these 4 things.

Use this as a simple action list. You do not need to complete every part of the guide at once.

1Set out the asset, duration and delivery owner.
2Use a small number of clear package options.
3Keep a note of comparable local sponsorship where available.
4Agree what can be added before reducing price.

Keep building

One useful change can make the next one easier.

Commercial confidence is not about becoming a sales organisation. It is about making the value already inside the club clearer to members, sponsors, volunteers and the wider community.
