TNT Sports returns to grassroots clubhouses for the FA Cup

TNT Sports is back on Grassroot Media’s clubhouse screens with its latest FA Cup campaign, running across 80 screens inside grassroots sports venues.

The creative carries TNT Sports’ “Home of the FA Cup” message into the places where players, members, volunteers and visitors spend time before and after sport. New photographs from participating clubs show the campaign in bars, lounges and other shared clubhouse spaces.

The campaign within club life

At Larkhall Athletic, the screen sits beside a busy bar, with visitors gathered around the clubhouse. At Chippenham, the advert appears alongside club noticeboards, with the pitch visible through the windows. At Dursley, it is positioned above the bar beside the club’s honours boards.

Those details help explain the setting. People come to clubs to play, support teams, volunteer and meet friends. Fixtures, results and sporting conversation are already part of the environment around the advertising.

Football messages across sporting communities

The photographs include football, rugby and cricket club settings. A football competition can be relevant to people who take part in a different sport, as well as those playing football themselves.

Our earlier TNT Sports campaign research explored that crossover. Among respondents who had visited their club in the previous week, 53 of 71 remembered the campaign creative, equivalent to 75% recall. The study also examined the different sports club participants followed. Those findings relate to the earlier campaign, and the full case study explains the research in more detail.

Screens with a role in the clubhouse

National advertising helps fund the free screens and service that Grassroot Media provides to clubs. Clubs have two thirds of the airtime for their own content, including fixtures, events, club news and local sponsors.

That makes the screen useful throughout the club calendar, with advertiser messages appearing alongside information that matters to members and visitors.

We’re pleased to have TNT Sports back on the network and thank the participating clubs for sharing photographs of the campaign in their venues.
