It was a good week for supporters playing the Grassroot Support Lottery, with 3 winners in the draw on Saturday 8 August 2026.
The winning number was 617862, with supporters of 3 different grassroots clubs picking up prizes.
A supporter of Billingham Synthonia Bowling Club matched 4 numbers and won £250.
A supporter of Rutherglen Bowling Club matched 3 numbers and won £25.
And a supporter of Cockerham Juniors FC matched 2 numbers and won 3 extra lottery tickets.
Supporting clubs while having a chance to win
The Grassroot Support Lottery was set up to give grassroots sports clubs and other community organisations another simple way to generate regular income.
Tickets cost £1 per week, with 50p from every ticket going directly to the club or cause selected by the player.
A further 10p goes into the Grassroot Support Fund, managed by Grassroot Support CIC, which is being built up to provide additional support to participating clubs and organisations.
The remaining money covers prizes and the secure administration and operation of the lottery.
For clubs, the attraction is that there is very little ongoing administration. Supporters sign up online, the weekly draws and prizes are managed centrally, and the club receives its share of ticket income.
And, as this week’s results show, supporters do win along the way.
Could your club benefit?
The lottery is open to grassroots sports clubs and other eligible community organisations, and there is no charge for a club to join.
Once registered, each organisation receives its own lottery page that it can promote to members, supporters, friends and family.
